Frequently asked questions

Have questions before starting your next 3D printing project? Here are detailed answers to the most common questions about our software, workflows, and licensing.

What does BrickPrint3D do?

BrickPrint3D turns supported digital brick builds into organized, print-ready 3MF plates. It matches the required parts to your STL library, checks quantities and colors, identifies missing files by part number, and automatically creates color-separated build plates. What used to require hours or even days of manual sorting and preparation can be completed in minutes, leaving you ready to open the plates in your slicer and start preparing your print.

What files and slicers does BrickPrint3D work with?

BrickPrint3D works with supported digital brick build and inventory data, including Rebrickable set data and imported MOC CSV files. It generates standard 3MF build plates designed to open in modern slicers such as OrcaSlicer and Bambu Studio. BrickPrint3D handles the part matching, scaling, color separation, and plate organization; your slicer remains in control of your printer, filament, supports, orientation, and final print settings.

Will 3D-printed bricks fit together like normal bricks?

Yes, properly sized and calibrated 3D-printed bricks can fit together and be used to build models. However, final fit depends on your printer, filament, calibration, layer settings, and the STL files being printed. BrickPrint3D handles the correct model scaling and organization, but we recommend printing a few test pieces first and adjusting your printer settings if needed before starting a large build.

What happens if a part is missing from my STL library?

If BrickPrint3D cannot find a required part in your STL library, it won’t guess or substitute the wrong model. The software flags the missing file and reports its exact part number, making it easy to identify what you need before printing. The rest of the available parts can still be matched and organized into your 3MF plates.

Does BrickPrint3D control my printer or slicer settings?

No. BrickPrint3D does not control your 3D printer or change your slicer settings. BrickPrint3D handles the preparation work—matching parts, scaling, organizing colors, identifying missing files, and generating 3MF build plates. You then open those plates in your preferred slicer to choose your printer profile, filament, orientation, supports, repairs, and final print settings..

Is BrickPrint3D a subscription?

No. BrickPrint3D V1 is not a subscription. It is a one-time purchase at the $9.99 introductory launch price. Your purchase includes a lifetime V1 license for one Windows PC, lifetime access to V1 updates, and no monthly or yearly fees.

Can I use my license on more than one computer?

No. Each BrickPrint3D V1 license is activated for one Windows PC at a time. If you want to use BrickPrint3D on an additional computer, that computer requires its own license. If you replace or upgrade your existing PC, contact BrickPrint3D support about transferring your license to the new computer.

What happens if I replace or upgrade my PC?

If you replace or significantly upgrade your PC, you don’t need to buy BrickPrint3D again. Contact BrickPrint3D support with your purchase information and new Machine Code, and we can transfer your license to the replacement computer. License transfers are intended for legitimate computer replacements or upgrades; each license remains limited to one active Windows PC at a time.
